According to the Miriam Webster dictionary, the definition of “endurance” is the ability to sustain a prolonged stressful effort or activity.  For Gifts of Love, a non-profit organization that provides food and clothing to Connecticut individuals and families in need, the word, “endurance” simply means Brian Cuddeback!  The Avon resident and Cigna Healthcare VP today launched his annual fundraiser, “Brian Cuddeback’s 5th Annual Charity Golf Endurance Challenge” in which he will use his power of persuasion and passion for playing golf to independently raise $50,000 for the charity that assists people in 43 Connecticut towns.  The daylong event will take place at the Golf Club of Avon on Monday, July 22, 2024 in which Cuddeback will play 199 holes, starting just before sunrise.

“I love my community and make it a point to keep my fundraising efforts local,” said Cuddeback.  “Since starting this special speed game of golf in 2020, it has grown exponentially in popularity with both corporate sponsors and individual donors wanting to show their support, so I fully expect to reach my goal.”

Cuddeback notes that the previous four years of his Golf Endurance Challenge has generated a total of $100,000 from family, friends, and Gifts of Love supporters, who have pledged various donation levels for his solo mission.  With frequent playing partner and caddy for the day, Steve Hahn of Avon by his side, Cuddeback will shoot 11 rounds of golf plus one extra hole to hit his goal.

New to this year’s event will be an advance media day on Friday, July 19th at 1 p.m. on the upper deck of the Avon Golf Club.

Cuddeback was also a participant in the non-profit’s recent 4th  Annual Charity Golf Tournament, which attracted 156 attendees to positively impact and support countless neighbors in need.

“We are both amazed and grateful for Brian’s ongoing and public sponsorship of our charity,” said Lisa Gray, executive director of Gifts of Love.  “The old adage that ‘one person can truly make a difference in the betterment of others’ certainly holds true with Brian!”
