This month at the Artworks@7th Gallery, the artists will share their artistic perspectives of Chesapeake Living. The Chesapeake Bay plays a major part in how Calvert Countians enjoy living here. The bay meets our shore and its reflection floats over our heads. This natural treasure abounds with wildlife, from fish and birds to plant life. Some people will swim and boat throughout the summer, while others will view it from dry land, perhaps from one of the many trails in Calvert County.

You can see the serenity and beauty of the bay in Ray Saunders’ photo “Bay Pastels” and in Tracy Vernon’s “Western Shore”. Maria Birnkammer shows us the whimsy in her “Dinner Time”.

Also, this month our guest artist is Tamila Theal. As an artist, Tamila has a combination of formal and practical experience. She developed techniques through art classes and continuous practice. The journey of an artist is profoundly personal.Tamila enjoys painting in oil and acrylic mediums. Her artwork comes to life using bold brush strokes and palette knife techniques on various painting surfaces, from traditional canvas to panels and masonite.
