Two of the greatest authors of the 20th Century - J.R.R. Tolkien & C.S. Lewis – established a unique friendship that was to have a significant impact on both their lives and their writings. This play sees them coming together as Lewis’ health is failing. They meet at an Oxford Pub where their friendship first began to flourish. It is a time to reminisce on past events, what they wrote and why, how it’s possible for a committed Catholic (Tolkien) to enjoy the company of a committed Protestant (Lewis). Above all, this is a heart-warming celebration of true friendship and all peppered with the humor for which they were both famous..
