Composing American Valor: War, Musicians, and the Soundtracks of Global Conflicts
The Delaware Historical Society is excited to present Josh Lee and The Family and historian David Suisman in a musical event and book talk acknowledging the tremendous impact veterans have had on the musical landscape of the United States.
Covering nearly two hundred years of American history and global conflicts, this program will begin by immersing audiences in the musical legacies of Philadelphia-based bandsmen Francis Johnson in a performance delivered by Josh Lee and The Family, followed by a book discussion of David Suisman’s latest publication, Instrument of War: Music and the Making of America’s Soldiers.
