The Ely Parks & Recreation Commission is pleased to announce that the 16th annual Ely Fall Fest will be held Sunday and Saturday. Fall Fest is a family-oriented and affordable celebration that offers a wide range of events for all ages. The event has continued to grow each and every year with attendees coming from all across the state to join in on the fun filled weekend.

September 22, 2024

Get ready for the best year yet. The 5k and 1 Mile Fun Run will be on Sunday morning the weekend before. The race will conclude at the park with a free cinnamon rolls and chocolate milk breakfast from My Mom's Bakery and Dan and Debbie's Creamery right here in Ely.
Day of race packet pick-up (7:45am), check-in, starting and finish lines will all be located at Ely City Park.
The race will begin at 9am.
Pre-registered participants are eligible to receive a Fall Fest t-shirt. Shirts are only guaranteed to those who register by August 29.

The race will be chip timed with medals awarded to the overall male and female finishers and medals to 1st - 3rd place male and female finishers in each bracket listed below.

5K Race Age Division: (1st place - 3rd place male and female categories for each age bracket listed below)
Under 12, 13 - 19, 20 - 39, 40 - 59, 60+
An awards ceremony will begin at City Park around 9:30am

Please note that vehicle parking will Not be allowed in the parking lot at Ely City Park or along the north side of Dows Street, as well along Hillcrest or Highland. Participants are encouraged to park in the new parking lot in City Park (at the end of Northgate Drive located off of State Street), or along Main Street, in the paved parking lot just south of the American Legion building; in the lot next to City Hall or along other available city streets.

On Saturday, plan on spending the day strolling through the vendor fair, check out the massive car show, eat some delicious food and be sure to not miss our best Kids Zone ever.
Do not forget to stop by the local businesses in Ely for a drink, a gift or bite to eat while you are in town.

The price is $40.00 per space.  Event coordinators are now able to accept payments through Venmo. Please email a copy of your paid venmo receipt with your registration to [email protected]. You can also drop it off in person at the Ely, Iowa Public Library. This Market is rain or shine. The vendor fair has only canceled once due to weather in all the years we have held this. In that case we held a make-up date the next day. Last year we had about 80 vendors. All fees collected support the friends of the Ely, Iowa Library Programming.
