7:30 p.m: George Frideric Handel Acis and Galatea, a Masque in Two Acts
Handel originally scored this delightful, pastoral classic drama for a small ensemble of singers and instruments, intended as a light entertainment for the musical afficionados at Chandos House in the English country-side. We restore it to its intimate charm, with period instrument orchestra, internationally acclaimed vocal artists, and the Festival Singers.
