From: Arts and Culture El Dorado20th Annual Images of Hope El Dorado
You are invited to participate in the 20th annual Banners on Parade. This community art project will enable accepted artists to display their work on Main Street in Placerville for several months during the summer and bring great joy to locals and visitors!
Banners on Parade is a community art project that is a collaborative effort of artists, businesses, non-profit organizations, and city government that promotes the arts on Historic Main Street in Placerville, California. It is one of the longest-running community art projects in California with 556 pieces of wonderful community art displayed over the last nineteen years (2005-2023).
Painted banners will be displayed on the light poles at various locations on Historic Main Street in Placerville, California, from June through October of 2024. After that, they will be sold at an online auction in late October 2024. The proceeds from the sale of the banners will be used to fund Placerville Art on Parade in the future. A local artist/art teacher will judge the banners and ribbons will be presented to the top three banners and three Honorable Mentions. Those banners judged as winners will be awarded $100 for First Place, $50 for Second Place, and $25 for Third Place.
Banners on Parade is a major annual event of Images of Hope El Dorado. Images of Hope El Dorado is and has been a major sponsor of Banners on Parade for many years.
The Banners on Parade Call to Artists and Application is now available for artists to apply to paint a banner for the 2024 exhibit.
