The United States Watermelon Speed Eating and Seed Spitting Championships Inc would like to invite everyone to our 55th annual event held on September 9, 2023.

Events start shortly after noon with grounds opening at 9:30am with the Watermelon Midway and Open Air Market (artists, crafters, and vendors).

Schedule:

7:30 – 9:00am
Vendors are allowed to set up for the Open Air Market. Information can be found here, including application and a general map of the grounds.

9:30am
Grounds officially open
Grounds open for the Open Air Market with artists and vendors
Watermelon Midway filled with children’s games hosted by local groups like the Pardeeville Student Council
Bounce house and DJ’d music
Concessions including your favorites – brats, burgers, sweet corn – prepared and served by the Pardeeville Lions Club
Free, fresh-sliced watermelon dished out all day by committee members of past and present – yes, it’s free all day

10:00am
Pick up a watermelon and start your Watermelon Carving right away. Carvings are judged during championship events.

Before or Around Noon
Free hay dive, with several age divisions where everyone gets a special prize!

Early Afternoon
Watermelon Carving entries are judged and announced during the rest of the events.
Speed-Eating events held first, at the end of the pavilion, youngest always going first.
Seed Spitting events held shortly after, held on the basketball courts.
