Ahead of Election Day, Here’s NVGOP Candidates’ History of Election Denialism, Conspiracy Theories, and Lies

NVGOP candidates have a long history of election denialism, conspiracy theories, and lies.  In the Senate race, MAGA extremist Sam Brown has a long history of supporting election conspiracy theories and downplaying the violent events of January 6. Joe Lombardo’s affiliated PAC, Better Nevada, paid for election denier Carrie Buck’s campaign ad after she falsely said that “1,500 dead people voted in 2020.” Buck is doubling down this cycle claiming that a friend of hers took in Ukrainian refugees and they received mail ballots. Republican Assemblyman Ken Gray said at a campaign rally in 2022, to a crowd of Trump supporters, “I do believe the election was stolen” and Jill Dickman, complained of “voter fraud” in a December 2020 Facebook post as Trump was trying to steal the election.

“MAGA extremist GOP candidates are in lockstep with Donald Trump on his unfounded denial of the results of the 2020 election,” said Nevada State Democratic Party spokesperson Claudia Alvarado. “While Nevada Republicans continue to spread dangerous election conspiracy theories, Nevada Democrats are committed to fighting to protect access to the ballot box.”
