All About Equine Animal Rescue, Inc : It's Rory's Time to Shine

Clubs and Organizations

March 21, 2023

From: All About Equine Animal Rescue, Inc

Rory came to AAE with one of her buddies from a distressed sanctuary. AAE is the third rescue/sanctuary to another rescue to the sanctuary she's been at, and not much was known about her - no history, no known training. Upon arrival at AAE, she was in fairly good condition; however, basic care was needed,

Shortly after arrival, she got the works: hoof and dental care, vaccines, deworming, and a microchip. Rory was very sweet, but she lacked confidence. She didn't care for hoof handling, farrier work, or anything new.

With a little patience, her confidence grew, and her education kicked in. She was introduced to a saddle, but didn't appreciate it much and tried to get away from it (buck and bolt). Eventually, she learned there was no harm, and she carried a rider at a walk a few times.

Rory enjoys grooming and attention, and she's improved with the farrier. She'll stand relatively quiet, unless there's a lot of activity that makes her nervous.

Rory is best suited for an experienced horse person who will start her training her from the ground up, and take things slow and with a kind approach. In time, she'll make someone a fun project and nice partner.

Help us find Rory's forever home!
