Bethel Members' Bash

We are excited about our annual members meeting, the Bethel Members' Bash, on Sunday, January 28 at 6:30pm at our Crown Point campus. This will be a special evening for the entire family (kids included!) celebrating the highlights of 2023. Members will also conduct a vote on the 2024 budget, our lead elder candidate (Chad Clark), and the proposed amendment to the constitution. Special refreshments will be served, and there will be some unique highlights to the evening. Bethel Members – please plan to attend this special event!

Foster & Adoption Group

The Bethel Cedar Lake campus invites all foster and adoptive parents to this month's gathering of the Bethel Foster and Adoption group on Friday, January 12 from 6:00-8:00pm in the Bethel Cedar Lake Commons. This group is designed specifically to support families experiencing the unique joys and struggles of foster care and adoption. Join us for a time of fellowship and spiritual encouragement. Childcare provided. Sign up by January 8 to let us know you are coming so that we can plan for childcare.

Gender & Sexuality Seminar

Verge is hosting a Gender & Sexuality Seminar open to adults out of high school. We will meet on January 20 from 9am-3pm at the Crown Point campus. During our time together, we will unpack why does gender matter and what the Bible says about homosexuality. We will hear from panelists and have many opportunities for Q&A and discussion. We would love to have you join us as we discuss what Scripture has to say about these topics. Lunch will be provided.
Please note, students are not able to join us at this event. Childcare is not provided.

Elder Candidates

The lead elders are pleased to put forward the following candidates for lead elder and campus elder roles. Our church constitution calls for a 30-day period of public consideration. If you are aware of any disqualifying matter in these men’s lives, please contact them directly. If the matter remains unresolved, you may contact us at [email protected]

Chad Clark, Lead Elder Candidate
I have been married for 30 years to my lovely wife, Maria. We have three grown sons and one daughter-in-law. I began attending Bethel in 2006 and quickly got involved with missions and then began serving as a deacon in 2008. I first joined the elder team in 2010 and have served faithfully in that capacity since, with a year off in 2017. In addition to serving as an elder, I have been leading a small group during the majority of my time at the church. I currently work at DHL freight as Vice President of Operations, and in my personal time, I enjoy road biking and traveling to fun places with my wife. Finally, I have been privileged to visit and work with our ministry partners around the world – including with teams in Guatemala, Costa Rica, and Lebanon.

Jack Huls, Crown Point Campus Elder Candidate

I am so thankful for Jesus and his work on the cross to save a guy like me. I'm also thankful for my beautiful wife, Kathryn, of 34 years who has truly been an example of Christ in my life. We have three adult sons who are each married and we count ourselves blessed to have three wonderful daughters-in-law who love Jesus and our sons. We enjoy serving as small group leaders. The things I find life-giving are generally found on or near the water or in my garage near a power tool. I enjoy creating, restoring, and refinishing but have to admit God does a much better job than I do.
