Beverly Hills City Council Approves Homeless Pilot Program
On November 15th the Beverly Hills City Council approved a $665,000 six-month pilot program to help homeless people. The program will be split into three parts in order to address the growing homeless population within the City. First, Nastec International will be expanded to extend its protection of potential criminal activities by acting as "eyes and ears" for the City. The pilot program will also retain Bonterra, a software company that will track services provided to disadvantaged individuals in Beverly Hills. Lastly, funds will be given to Step Up on Second, a mental health services provider in order to expand homeless outreach hours within the City.
As a result of the Homeless Pilot Program, the City hopes to identify the most effective ways of assisting unsheltered individuals in the City. In addition, it hopes to maintain a safe working environment for customers and business owners alike. To read more click here.
