ROLL FOR INITIATIVE
We now have a GAMING collection, featuring several TTRPG rulebooks (Dungeons & Dragons, Magic the Gathering, etc), plus an introductory D&D Essentials Kit that has everything you need to take home and start your own adventure - no experience required. If you've ever been curious about Dungeons & Dragons, now is the time to start!
Is there something you think our Gaming collection is missing? Submit your request here.
SENSE-ATIONAL NEWS
The Brookfield Library now has two Sensory Kits for Teens & Adults - one in-house, and one circulating. The kit includes noise-canceling headphones, sunglasses, and several stim toys. It's great for anyone who feels anxious, overwhelmed, or just needs a little extra help to focus.
NATIONAL LIBRARY WEEK
During the last week of April, we'll be celebrating National Library Week. Swing by to show your love for The Brookfield Library and you might find some surprises! (HINT: The Button Maker will be involved...)
AUTHOR VISIT
Thank you to everyone who attended the community conversation with award-winning author Sherri L. Smith on the evening of Thursday, March 30th. We were so honored to have her here!
Sherri offered some amazing (and hilarious) insight into the importance of storytelling in our culture, and how stories can encourage confidence, resilience, and community. Needless to say, we're taking her advice to heart!
And the winner is...
The people have spoken! After a long and bloody battle, you ultimately decided that the winner of March Madness: Dystopian Survivor is...
Thomas from Maze Runner!
To celebrate this victory, we'll be having a movie night in May to watch the film adaptation of Maze Runner.
Stay tuned for more info in our May newsletters.
