Carter attended Suffield Academy in CT and then earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Finance from Georgetown University. During his tenure at Georgetown, he played D1 baseball as well as worked part-time at the infamous Tombs restaurant in D.C.

Originally from Westfield, Carter resides in Dorchester.
