Welcome To Our New Season

Chicago Sinfonietta's 2023-24 season is all about connecting to the world - and each other - through sound. It's about music that resonates - soundscapes of exploding colors and textures and frequencies that speak to us on a personal and global level - about culture, community, life, and yes - technology. We've dared to put our finger on the pulse of classical music - both today’s and yesterday’s - and listened for what reverberates as true and special.

From Chicago premieres including Regina Harris's Baiocchi’ s Muse for Orchestra in the opening season concert, a new work by Chicagoan Clarice Assad, and Florence Price’s Concert Overture No. 2, to time-proven jewels such as Shostakovich’s Symphony No. 5 and Rachmaninoff’s Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini, we offer you beautiful works that evoke so many emotions and stories.

We are proud to have several incredible guest artists joining us this season - guest conductors Carlos Miguel Prieto and Chelsea Tipton, double bassist Xavier Foley, violinist Amaryn Olmeda, vocalist/composer Clarice Assad, percussionist Cleo Goldberg, and pianist George Li.  And I am very excited to have Peter CottonTale as our second Artist-in-Residence. His work with us is sure to further our creativity in the areas of collaboration and ever-growing relationships between artists and audiences.

It is exciting beyond words to finally perform this season in our new home, the Auditorium Theatre. Our collaboration with this Chicago landmark is another step in our journey of making music accessible to all.

Check out our full season plus a very special holiday concert.
