CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – Starting on Monday, January 23, the Corpus Christi-Nueces County Public Health District will be providing at-home COVID-19 tests. Residents will also be provided with instructions on conducting the test and reporting the positive result.
“We learned that while the PCR test is considered the gold standard for diagnosing COVID-19, individuals can remain positive for months because the test detects viral fragments,” said Dr. Fauzia Khan, Director of the Corpus Christi-Nueces County Public Health District. “Individuals can take the rapid test at home and have the results quick compared to a PCR test.”
The test will be available at no cost. Residents can pick up the at-home COVID-19 test on Mondays only, from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. at the drive-thru at the Public Health District, 1702 Horne Road.
