From: City Of GlendaleGLENDALE, ARIZ.- Battalion Chief Eddie Smith started his career as a Glendale Firefighter on August 29, 1997. He moved through the ranks holding the title of Captain and Battalion Chief. His career was highlighted with service in the Labor leadership for Local 493’s Glendale Chapter. Firefighting is in the blood for the Smith family. His wife Julie is a Deputy Chief for Gila River Fire Department, and one of his three son’s is an Engineer for Glendale Fire. Chief Smith received his bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science at New Mexico Highlands University. His love for exercise started on the football field.
