City Of Hercules Herald Issue No. 1 - October 3, 2022

Government and Politics

October 6, 2022

From: City Of Hercules

Message from the City Manager

Hello Hercules,

I want to welcome you all to the first edition of the Hercules E-Newsletter. This monthly digital newsletter is another tool to help keep you up to date with important City issues, services, and projects, as well as shine a spotlight on some of the employees who serve our great City. In the past, the City issued a biweekly newsletter in a Portable Document Format (or PDF) format to connect our community. The Hercules E-Newsletter builds on this communication tool using a modern electronic format design that can be easily distributed through email, the City website, social media platforms, and other ways. As a City, we are dedicated to the use of technology to provide opportunities for residents to access a wide range of tools and information to participate more fully in city affairs.

The work of the City continues every day in improving our infrastructure, keeping our neighborhoods safe, growing our economy, and providing housing for our residents. Thanks for taking the time to read our e-newsletter and feel free to contact me with any questions, concerns, or comments. Most importantly, please stay involved and engaged as we work together to make our community better.

We are stronger together!

Sincerely,

Dante Hall

City Manager

Staff Spotlight
Meet Joey Castaneda - Mr. Fix It
Department of Public Works, Maintenance Division

Joey is the go to person when something in a facility breaks and needs to be fixed in a hurry. Otherwise, he can be found building cabinets, remodeling rooms, and keeping the pool mechanical room in the Community Center running smoothly. Joey also serves on the Social Committee, where in addition to raising spirits he specializes in barbecuing hotdogs, hamburgers, and if we’re especially fortunate, tri-tip.

When not at work, Joey enjoys an occasional overlanding trip with his family or other camping adventure. He also travels to Las Vegas to see the Aviators play (hence the cap), who are a AAA baseball team for the Oakland As.

Joey has worked at the City of Hercules for 26 years.

Thank you, Joey, for the many years of dedicated service and all you do!!!
