Save the date for the City of North Port’s annual signature egg hunts, hosted by the Parks & Recreation Department this spring! Learn more at NorthPortFL.gov/EggHunt.

Flashlight Egg Hunt

On March 31 at 7:30 p.m., the Flashlight Egg Hunt will take place on the City Center Front Green.  This free event is geared to children ages 6 to 11.  Don’t be late – as the eggs go very fast! Children are encouraged to bring a flashlight and a basket to fill. Thousands of eggs will be hidden in hay throughout City Center Front Green. Egg hunters will be divided into three age groups: 6-7 years old, 8-9 years old and 10-11 years old and attendees will be able to take photos with the Bunny before and after the egg hunt. Children who find an egg with a special ticket inside can redeem it on-site for an extra special basket from the Bunny!

Eggnormous Egg Hunt

On April 1, the City will host its signature Eggnormous Egg Hunt for families with children ages 3 to 9. This free event will start at 9 a.m. on City Center Front Green, 4970 City Hall Blvd. The Bunny will count down the hunt for each age group for staggered starts beginning at 10 a.m. Don’t forget to bring a basket to gather as many of the eggs that you can! Egg hunters will be divided into three age groups: 3-4 years old, 5-6 years old and 7-9 years old.

As part of the Eggnormous event and in conjunction with Clara’s Clubhouse, an Adaptive Egg Hunt section will also be available for children age 3-9 with special needs and their families. The Adaptive Egg Hunt will include sensory eggs and other accommodations to ensure eggs are easily found and reachable. This will allow egg hunters to search at a pace they are comfortable with.

Children who find an egg with a special ticket inside can redeem it on-site for an extra special basket from the Bunny!

Community involvement and sponsorships

Want to help a kid’s face light up with joy? Consider donating a prize basket for this event. Parks & Recreation will be accepting community donations of pre-filled, gender-neutral baskets for these events through March 24. If you’re interested in donating, please drop baskets off anytime during regular operating hours at the George Mullen Activity Center, 1602 Kramer Way.

Special thank you to the in-kind sponsors for this event, Clara’s Clubhouse, the Daily Sun and Do The Happy Bounce. We’d also like to thank the volunteers from Awaken Church!
