Learn to ‘yak at the North Port Aquatic Center

Have you always wanted to learn how to kayak? Starting this January, you can Learn to 'Yak at NPAC with North Port Parks & Recreation! Classes will begin in the heated competition pool and based on experience level, will then venture out onto nearby waterways. Participants will have the opportunity learn kayaking skills in a real-world scenario with instructors at the ready.

Each session includes six 2-hour classes and costs $75 for residents of the City of North Port and $100 for non-residents. The class is open those who are 11 years of age or older. Pre-registration is required and can be completed online at https://bit.ly/YakAtNPAC.

Beginner level kayaking sessions will be offered at the following dates and times:

- March 21 – Apr. 6 on Tuesday and Thursday from 8 – 10 a.m.

Intermediate level kayaking sessions will be offered at the following dates and times:

- Jan. 31 – Feb. 16 on Tuesday and Thursday from 8 – 10 a.m.

- March 25 – Apr. 29 on Saturdays from 8 – 10 a.m.
