City of North Port Parks & Recreation Department receives three awards from Florida Festival & Events Association

The City of North Port Parks & Recreation Department recently received three SUNsational Awards from the Florida Festival & Events Association (FFEA). The awards program recognizes members' innovation, individuality, and creative collaboration. This year more than 500 nominations were submitted for consideration in ten categories.

North Port Parks & Recreation received the following:

- First place in the Annual Report category for the 2021 Annual Impact Report

- First place in the Event Guide category for the 2022 Summer/Fall Playbook

- Third place in the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Initiative category for the Community of Unity photo competition

“It is a great honor for staff to be recognized by our peers in the industry for their hard work in creating events and developing engaging educational campaigns for the community,” said Sandy Pfundheller, Director of Parks & Recreation. “They have shown great dedication to serving our City, finding new and innovative ways to provide parks and recreation services.”

Nominations were judged by a blue-ribbon panel representing media outlets, printing companies, website designers, photographers, promotional marketing professionals, and social media experts.

“The SUNsational Awards have recognized and celebrated the talents of our members for more than two decades,” said Suzanne Neve, CEO of the FFEA.  “We’re proud of our members and their events – and excited to recognize them in this way each year.”
