As sad as it may be to look at, it's important to shed light on this problem so that those struggling in an abusive situation realize they are being mistreated and seek the help they need. Everyone should be aware of the signs of domestic violence, so we can reach out to those who may be silently suffering.

Each victim reacts to abuse differently. Generally, a victim's reaction to abuse will fall in one of these three categories: Coping, Managing, and Resisting.

Remember, no circumstance will be exactly the same.
