WHAT:                     
South Antelope Valley Emergency Services (SAVES) distribution of holiday food baskets and toys. 200 Senior households and 210 families will receive food baskets, which will feed approximately 1,500 people.

WHEN:                     
Thursday, Dec. 22, 11 am to 3:30 pm.                              
Best time for video/photos with Seniors receiving food is from 11:30 am – 1:30 pm.                              
Best time for video/photos of parents picking toys and receiving food items is from 1:30 – 2:30 pm.
Please receive permission from individuals for photos or video.

WHERE:                  
Christmas food basket distribution at SAVES, 1002 East Ave. Q-12.                            
Toy distribution at former Courthouse, 38256 Sierra Hwy.

WHO:  
Council Members, local seniors, families, and SAVES Staff and volunteers.  

BACKGROUND:  Each year, SAVES distributes hundreds of baskets around the Christmas holiday. The baskets include items such as a large portion of meat and other essential ingredients for a traditional holiday meal including stuffing, canned vegetables, muffin mix, rolls, fresh vegetables, and fruit. In December, families will be able to choose toys and gifts for their children at the popup SAVES Toy Store. SAVES provides a practical and caring approach to serving people in need. The program was started in 1983 and offers assistance to individuals and families experiencing a temporary emergency situation.
