Riverside County Department of Animal Services

Can Make You Fall in Love

Riverside County Department of Animal Services (RCDAS) is still dealing with overcrowding – especially large dogs that are staying far too long in their shelters.

Riverside County’s shelters are offering fee-waived adoptions during its first ever Fall in Love campaign.

The adoption special will run through October and RCDAS is encouraging visitors to consider pets, especially dogs, that have been cared for the longest at county shelters.

The Fall in Love campaign and the video below highlight how RCDAS staff and volunteers are trying to keep the long-time shelter residents as healthy and happy as possible while waiting for their forever home.

RCDAS rescue team member Damien Cruz talks about his hope for these Longtimers and their need for a forever home.
