Mayor’s Updates

- Veterans Resource Center Opening: On Wednesday, I was proud to open the Stamford Veterans Resource Center. This center will allow veterans to have better access to government resources and programs and allow them the opportunity to interact with fellow veterans and community partners in Stamford. - $1 Million in Federal Funding for Bioswales: I joined Congressman Jim Himes this week to announce the $1 million in federal funding Stamford received to build 20 new bioswales across the City. This funding will help reduce flooding and stormwater runoff, and improve water quality and neighborhood aesthetics. Click here to read more.

- $5.25 Million in Federal Funding for City Projects: I joined Senator Chris Murphy, Senator Richard Blumenthal, and Congressman Jim Himes to highlight the over $5 million in federal funding Stamford is receiving to build a new library branch on the East Side, street light improvements, and a new regional police academy at the Stamford Police Department.

- Phase 1 of Dredging at Cove Island Park Marina Completed: Using state funding, our Department of Operations has finished this first phase of dredging which will remove debris from the bottom of the water and helps protect the environment and support boating activity. The second phase is estimated to be completed by the end of 2024.

- Taking Action for Increased Pedestrian Safety: We have committed our city to the Vision Zero Initiative. To follow updates on the Vision Zero Initiative, click here. This month, I testified in support of statewide Vision Zero pedestrian safety initiatives to make Stamford streets safer for residents. Read more here. 

City News

- CTDOT continues construction at Stamford Station.

  • The center island platform between Tracks #3 and #5 is closed. This platform will remain closed through Thursday, May 11, 2023.
  • Passengers can find the updated train schedule here.

- Winter Restaurant Week returns February 20th - March 5th. For more information, click here.

- The next Board of Assessment Appeals meetings will be held in March 2023.

- The state of Connecticut’s mandatory revaluation process has been completed. More information about the revaluation process can be found here.

- The Special Election for the 148th House District will be held on February 28th, 2023. For more information click.

- All vendors working with the City, please see the notice posted here.

- The Stamford Department of Health Flu vaccine clinic is open from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm every Wednesday until April 30th, 2023. The clinic is located at 137 Henry Street, no appointment needed.

- Sunday, February 19 Black Stamford: Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow Boys & Girls Club/Yerwood Center, 90 Fairfield Avenue, Stamford 1:00-3:00 p.m.

In honor of Black History Month, join us and hear from specially invited Stamford guests and residents who have made and are making significant contributions to Stamford.  The program will be filled with musical and dance performances woven between the stories about our community near and wide, from our youth to our elders.

- Vaccination Sites

  • Saturday February 18th, 2023

The vaccination site at Westover School will be open from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. The vaccination site at 137 Henry Street will be open from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm. The vaccination site at the Child Guidance Center (401 Shippan Ave) will be open from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm.

  • Sunday February 19th, 2023:

The vaccination site at Americares (401 Shippan Ave) will be open from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm.

2/20-2/24 vaccines are available at the following locations free without an appointment:

- All Ages

  • 137 Henry Street Clinic: Tuesday & Friday – Appointment Preferred 9:00 am to 12:00 pm
  • Call (203)-977-5385
  • 137 Henry Street Clinic: Thursday - 10:00 am to 4:00 pm
  • Ferguson Library: Wednesday & Thursday: 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM
  • Americares (401 Shippan Ave): Tuesday - Friday – 8:00 am -12:00 pm

- 1st and 2nd doses are available to all, as well as booster shots for ages 5+ (Pfizer) and 18+ (Moderna/J&J) at all walk up vaccination clinics. 

- Other COVID-19 Resources

  • If you are unable to leave your home or are uncomfortable traveling to a vaccine site, the Stamford Department of Health will bring the vaccine to you. Please call 203-977-4378 or 203-977-4369 to schedule your free in-home COVID-19 vaccine appointment.
  • All information about Stamford's response to COVID-19 can be found at www.stamfordct.gov/covid19.
  • Please visit the State of Connecticut's Vaccine Portal for information on how to request a new copy of your card.
