The most up-to-date crime data the FBI recently released on a limited number of cities shows that Tampa remains one of the safest cities of its size. This chart highlights Tampa data and official statistics for comparably-sized cities (other official Florida data for 2021 is not available yet). Ready to dispose of your organic Christmas tree? Simply place it curbside on your regular yard waste day for collection! Remove all decorations/lights and cut limbs to 4ft lengths. Then, bundle and place curbside on your yard waste collection day. 

3R’s Art & Poetry Contest 

Do you know a student with artistic skills who wants to share a message of environmental stewardship through waste reduction? Students in 3rd – 12th grade attending schools or being homeschooled within the City of Tampa limits are encouraged to submit a piece to the 3R’s Art & Poetry Contest. A first-place winner will be selected from each of the following categories: Elementary, Middle, and High School. The winning artwork will be displayed on a recycling collection truck for one year. The winning poetry pieces will be on display at Julian B. Lane Riverfront Park for a year. The submission deadline is February 3, 2023. 

City of Tampa Inaugural Three Kings' Day Celebration 

Join the City of Tampa for its inaugural Three Kings' Day celebration, hosted by the Tampa Police Department and Community Engagement & Partnerships Department. Enjoy music, activities, free food, and small gifts (while supplies last) on January 6 from 5 pm to 7 pm at the Barksdale Community Center.

The Parks & Recreation Department is hiring a Landscape Architect II to be responsible for preparing architectural drawings for landscaping at municipal buildings and facilities. This position will also be responsible for municipal site planning, coordination, and design activities.
