Migration Madness 2023

Our sixth annual celebration of Connecticut's birds features walks, lectures, and other activities. The Birdathon, our signature event, is the weekend of May 20-21. For a full schedule of Migration Madness programs at all of our centers and sanctuaries, click here.

Bird Banding Demonstration

Saturday, May 20 at 9 a.m.

Andy and fellow banders will catch and safely release songbirds after recording their data. You may have a chance to release a bird yourself! Fee: $10 CAS members; $20 nn-members

Beginners Bird Walk with Aaron

Sun., May 21, 7 to 9 a.m.

If you're new to bird watching, this program led by avid birder and photographer, Aaron Bourque, is for you! Many of the colorful spring migrants will have returned. Fee: $10 CAS members; $20 non-members

Nightingale Forest Preserve Bird Walk

Sunday, May 21 at 8 a.m.

Explore this newly preserved Wyndham Land Trust area. Fee: $20 CAS members; $30 non-members

Toddlers, Trails and Tales

Every Wednesday at 10 a.m.

Parents, grandparents, guardians, come out to the Center with your toddler for story time, crafts, activities and some fresh air. Led by retired PCS kindergarten teacher, Carolyn Otto, the morning will be full of fun adventures. Dress for the weather. Registration is recommended by calling 860-928-4948. Free.
