Connecticut’s delegation to the Democratic National Convention voted to support Vice President Kamala Harris, following President Joe Biden’s announcement that he would not seek the nomination.

In a virtual meeting on Monday evening, the delegation, which includes 74 delegates and 5 alternates, voted overwhelmingly by voice vote in favor of a motion to endorse Vice President Harris to be the Democratic nominee for President of the United States. There were no votes in opposition.

“We thank President Biden for his leadership and his patriotism. He showed grace and courage in making the decision not to seek a second term. Connecticut’s voters overwhelmingly endorsed Joe Biden in April, and now our delegation is following his lead and supporting Vice President Kamala Harris to be the next President of the United States,” said CT Democrats Chair Nancy DiNardo.
