The Plaza Arts Center is bringing you a little slice of both with The Doo Wop Project! Join us at The Plaza January 28 for a night of smooth dance moves, iconic vocals and a trip through music.

The Doo Wop Project starts at the beginning, tracing the inception of group singing developed by inner city African Americans performing tight harmonies on a street corner to the biggest hits on the radio today. Their vocals guide the audience through the journey from foundational tunes of groups like the Crests, Belmonts and Flamingos through their influences on the sounds of Smokey Robinson, The Temptations, and The Four Seasons all the way to versions of modern musicians like Michael Jackson, Jason Mraz and Maroon 5.

Featuring stars of Broadway’s smash hits Jersey Boys and Motown:
The Musical, the Doo Wop Project brings unparalleled authenticity of sound and vocal excellence to recreate, and in some cases entirely reimagine, some of the greatest music in American pop and rock history!

Whether it’s rock or pop you’re looking for, the Doo Wop Project brings a little bit of everything to the stage.

The Doo Wop Project is the first show of the year for The Plaza, starting out its 15th entertainment season. Taking the stage on January 28, this show is one that The Plaza expects to sell out.

“Last year we had unbelievable success,” Taylor Surman, Marketing Director at The Plaza said. “We sold out four shows more than a month in advance, which is something that’s new for us! This makes it even more important to become a member to get presale tickets for everything.”

Entering in the 15th season is something to be proud of and Lake Country’s hidden gem is surely happy to be creating successful entertainment opportunities.
