Evanston, IL - The Downtown Evanston Farmers’ Market will kick off its 48th season on Saturday, May 6, 2023.

The Market, which was named "Best Farmers Market - Suburbs" by Better Chicago, will be open every Saturday, May 6 through November 4, from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., at University Place and Oak Avenue, behind the Hilton Garden Inn. Senior and disabled shoppers are invited to visit the Market early, from 7 a.m. to 7:30 a.m.

Visitors are encouraged to arrive to the market hungry, as food will be sold on site. This season, more than 50 vendors will sell a wide variety of goods, including fruits, vegetables, meat, flowers, cheese, baked goods and more. 

LINK cards accepted

LINK cards are accepted at the market. LINK customers will be able to receive a match of up to $25 per Saturday. Link processing will be located at the City of Evanston tent from 7:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Introduce your children to healthy eating

Parents and guardians can get their children involved in healthier eating through the Farmers' Market's free Spud Club program. Children ages 2 to 10 years old can participate in a weekly activity and obtain a punch card at the Spud Club tent and get it punched each week. Once the card is fully punched, they will be able to select from a Market-themed bushel basket.

Shop for local artwork

Shoppers will also be able to purchase original artwork at the market. The Home Grown Artists showcase for Evanston artists and their work will be featured for 16 weeks, starting in June. Interested artists should email [email protected] 

Free parking available

Walking, riding or driving to the Market is easy. Free parking is available in the 1800 Maple Self Park Garage with ticket validation at the City of Evanston tent.
