FDP Chair Nikki Fried calls JD Vance a ‘clear and present danger’

In response to JD Vance’s comments attempting to reverse his record on supporting abortion bans with no exceptions at tonight’s Presidential Debate, the Florida Democratic Party has issued the following statement:

“JD Vance’s extreme views on abortion are a clear and present danger to women and girls across America,” said FDP Chair Nikki Fried. “He can’t run away from his record on this issue. He’s already said the the quiet part out loud, saying “two wrongs don’t make a right” when asked about abortion ban exceptions for rape and incest.”

“Floridians are already living under one of the most extreme bans in the country with no real exceptions. Florida’s ban requires women to prove they have been raped by securing a police report, restraining order or other supporting documents as well as two doctors appointments before receiving the health care they need.

“A Trump-Vance administration would take extreme abortion bans like ours nationwide and expand attacks on reproductive rights even further, threatening access to sex education, contraception, IVF and emergency healthcare. We must elect Kamala Harris and Tim Walz to protect the next generation of women and girls from losing more of their rights and freedoms.”
