Free Learning Series 'Little Kids, Big World' Featured at North Dakota Heritage Center and State Museum

BISMARCK, ND - Toddlers and preschoolers are invited to the free interactive learning series "Little Kids, Big World" at the North Dakota Heritage Center & State Museum in Bismarck. These interactive 30-minute programs introduce children to North Dakota’s fascinating history. Children and their accompanying adult(s) are asked to meet at the west entrance information desk. 

July 3: Fireworks, 10 am: What do firecrackers, foot races, and freedom have in common? The Fourth of July. Celebrate by making your own fireworks painting to take home.

July 6: Tall Towers, 2 and 3 pm: North Dakota has tall towers throughout the state. Seek out the tall towers on exhibit in the Inspiration Gallery: Yesterday and Today, and see how they are built. Build your own tower. 

July 17: Tall Towers, 10 am: North Dakota has tall towers throughout the state. Seek out the tall towers on exhibit in the Inspiration Gallery: Yesterday and Today, and see how they are built. Build your own tower. 

July 20: Frozen Friends, 10 and 11 am: On a hot summer day, ice is a great way to cool off. Hear a story about how animals stay cool. Uh-oh! A few friends are frozen in the ice. Can you rescue them? 

July 27: USS North Dakota, 2 and 3 pm: Learn about the ship structure of the USS North Dakota model on exhibit. Build your own ship. We will test whose floats the best after we add weights. Will your ship withstand the test? 

July 31: USS North Dakota, 10 am: Learn about the ship structure of the USS North Dakota model on exhibit. Build your own ship. We will test whose floats the best after we add weights. Will your ship withstand the test?
