Step into the December chill and warm up with the sounds of the season at Glendale's libraries. Here's a lineup of laid-back, family-friendly concerts to infuse your holidays with a touch of music.
Big Band Grandstand Holiday Concert
Monday, December 4, 6-7:30 PM. Foothills Library
Kick off the festive month with a special evening of swinging popular standards and holiday favorites.
Live @ the Library: A Very Driftwood Christmas
Thursday, December 7, 6:30-7:30 PM. Main Library
Experience a mix of Christmas classics, music in honor of Kwanzaa and Hanukkah, and a jazzy twist on Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker Suite from the Driftwood Quintet.
Live @ the Library: Women in Song Present "A Holiday Kaleidoscope"
Monday, December 11, 6:30-7:30 PM. Main Library
Celebrate the season with four-part holiday harmonies, accompanied by Jeff Yoder's masterful piano playing and conducted by Artistic Director Patti Graetz.
Main Library Coffeehouse: Holiday Concert
Thursday, December 14, 6:30-7:30 PM. Main Library
Close out the month with a cozy concert featuring local musicians performing sing-along holiday tunes.

Don't Forget LIBCON West
Join us at the Main Library for our 7th annual comic convention, an all-ages celebration of pop culture, comics, manga, anime, sci-fi, and fantasy, on Saturday, December 2, from 12-5 PM! Meet talented comic book creators, interact with awesome cosplayers, explore vendor booths, catch thrilling live performances, and watch your kids make some fun crafts. Milkweed for Monarchs
If you plant it (milkweed), they (monarchs) will come! Monarch butterfly populations are declining at a rapid rate due to many factors, including the loss of milkweed habitat. On Monday, December 4, from 6-7:30 PM at the Main Library, Natalie Melkonoff, Plant and Insect Ecology Program Manager at the Desert Botanical Garden, will discuss the monarch and the right type of milkweed and nectar plants to use when creating a monarch-friendly habitat. Participants will receive free desert milkweed seeds.

Container Gardening in Winter
Unlock the secrets of container gardening with Master Gardener Pam Perry on Saturday, December 9, from 2-3:30 PM at the Heroes Regional Park Library. Discover the plants that thrive outdoors in the chilly season and learn expert tips for their care. From healthy herbs to winter wonders, transform your outdoor space into a green paradise.

Teen Venture: Sock Snowman
Bring a touch of frosty magic to life at the Heroes Regional Park Library on Sunday, December 3, from 2-3 PM. Your imagination will transform ordinary socks and everyday items into the cutest, coziest, softest snowmen! Ages 12-18.
Teen Techs
Explore and play with the latest tech gadgets, such as vinyl cutters, 3D pens, 3D printers, and more, on Monday, December 11, from 6-7:30 PM at the Foothills Library. Each month will feature a different gadget. Registration is requested. Ages 10-18.
Level Up: D&D @ Main
Calling all teen adventurers, ages 12-18! Whether you're a seasoned D&D pro with your own level 3 character or you're just curious about rolling the dice, you can join our quest on Thursday, December 14, from 6-7 PM at the Main Library. No experience is needed!
Great Arizona Puppet Theater Presents: The Selfish Elf
Get in the holiday spirit with this fun, live Christmas puppet show on Saturday, December 9, from 10:30-11:30 AM at the Foothills Library! The Great Arizona Puppet Theater will treat kids and families to the tale of an elf who is selfish, but then learns the spirit of giving.
This program is provided by the Deer Valley Family Resource Center. Seating is first come, first served until the room reaches capacity.

The Glendale Community Alert System powered by Everbridge is the mass notification system Glendale uses to keep you informed about critical information and important events within the community. This system will be used for emergency alerts, as well as non-emergency incidents that may have significant impacts on residents. This service allows city public safety officials to send out emergency notifications by phone, text, email and other contact methods to thousands of residents and businesses within a short amount of time. Visit the City of Glendale Community Alert Portal or download the Everbridge mobile app from the App Store or Google Play Store to sign up.
