ANNAPOLIS, MD - Governor Wes Moore and cabinet members today continued the governor’s statewide cabinet meeting road tour in Caroline County, strengthening the Moore-Miller Administration’s commitment to making Maryland safer, more affordable, more competitive, and the state that serves. The governor and cabinet members visited various locations, including the University of Maryland Shore Regional Pavilion, Caroline County Sheriff's Office, Martin’s House and Barn, and Twin Maples Farm.

"In the Moore-Miller Administration, we meet the people where they are. Today, we sat down with Marylanders on the Eastern Shore to talk about how we move in partnership to advance our shared goals," said Gov. Moore. "Caroline County is a case study in how Maryland can lead across sectors -- from agriculture, to nonprofits, to public safety. And by working together, we will continue to leave no one behind."

After the cabinet meeting, the Governor and members of his cabinet toured the new state-of-the-art Caroline County Sheriff's Office. The new facility includes space available to the Maryland State Police and other agencies in state of emergency situations to serve as a unified command location.

The governor concluded his visit with a tour of Twin Maples Farm. The farm specializes in planting miscanthus grass, a perennial grass used in agricultural sector innovations including buffering waterways, composting, and manufacturing biodegradable products and providing chicken house bedding and biofuel. Commercial agriculture is Maryland’s leading industry, employing nearly 350,000 people.

Cabinet secretaries also visited local businesses and locations around Caroline County, including the Choptank Community Health Center and the Jonestown Community Stormwater and Resilience Project.
