Each month we choose the organization or work that our Generosity Box donations will be given to. For the month of June we will be collecting for Renovation Alliance. Donate throughout the month in support.

From June 18-23, 140 volunteers from Baptist churches all over Virginia will be in Roanoke working with Renovation Alliance to repair the homes of low-income, elderly and disabled folks. Impact is a youth-oriented construction-based mission camp primarily for students who have completed grades 6-12. They will be working with volunteer adult leaders (some from Grandin Court Baptist) and with staff from Renovation Alliance. These youth teams will experience how they can help homeowners by ensuring warmer, safer, healthier, dryer and accessible housing. This experience will also help these young people reflect on how God is moving in their lives and aren’t just driving nails without thinking about why they are doing it.

Hello Grandin Court.

I decided the only way I can respond to the many cards and phone calls I received from GCBC members celebrating my recent birthday was to send a thank you note you can hang on a wall.  I love each and every one of you, and miss you, and will continue to miss you.

I am living in a house alone.  I have moved my membership to Calvary Baptist Church, a church about the size of GCBC.  I do miss the Murray SS class, a great teacher, and involved members.  Have yet to find a replacement class.  The church members are friendly, but I have not found a SS class of mixed male/female.

Love to have anyone visiting, especially if you are in the Lynchburg area.  I am located in the Stonegate Villas, a gated community.  There are 88 homes, a swimming pool, walking paths, a club house with some equipment to keep in shape.  A lot of homes are owned by single elders.

Come see me.  I am trying to learn how to cook, so don't look for a feast.
Love,
Don Blackburn
