(Ages 12-18) Sign up online beginning May 22. For every three books or audiobooks you check out in-person or online, you earn a chance to enter the weekly drawing for a gift bag. The more entries you have, the more chances to win! Entries will be kept throughout the Summer, so each one will be a chance to win the grand prize drawing on August 7. Teens can also submit short book reviews (at least 2 sentences) to the Teen Librarian at [email protected] for a chance to win a prize! Every book review will also give the submitter one hour of volunteer time.
Teen Tiny Art Contest (Kit Included)
June 1-30
Think you can make a masterpiece with only a 3x3 canvas? Sign up for and come pick up one of our tiny art kits any time from June 1st-12th. After creating your art bring it to the adult services desk in the library to be entered into the tiny art contest! (Make sure your contact info is on it). Entries will be accepted until June 30th, 2023. All supplies provided. Register online at homewoodpubliclibrary.org.Open to rising 6th-12th graders.
Teen Advisory Board (TAB)

(6th-12th Grade) The Teen Advisory Board is a volunteer group of 6th-12th graders who are dedicated to serving the Homewood Public Library. Teen Henna Class
Saturday, June 3, from 1-2 p.m. in Round Auditorium.

Teen Ani-Marathon 2023

Teen Theatre Thursdays

Anime Art Academy

(6th-12th Grade) Kane Bourgeois is here to teach you about drawing characters in an anime/cartoon style! Learn the basics of character design, color theory, and more. Stuffed Animal Taxidermy Teens

Self Defense for Teen Girls
Saturday, June 24, from 10-11:30 a.m. in Large Auditorium.
Join us as Karen Mitchell from Impact Martial Arts teaches girls how to size up a situation and decide what they should do. Due to content of the workshop, some difficult subjects will be discussed. Register for each session online at homewoodpubliclibrary.org. Open to rising 6th-12th graders.
Magic: the Gathering for Teens
Tuesday, June 27, from 4:30-6:30 p.m. in Room 109
(6th-12th Grade) Interested in learning about Magic: the Gathering? Each game represents a battle between wizards known as “planeswalkers”, who employ spells, artifacts, and creatures depicted on individual Magic cards to defeat their opponents. Potion Maker Mayhem
Thursday, June 29, from 12-1 p.m. in Room 109.
(6th-12th Grade) Witches, wizards, alchemists, and magicians are welcome to join us in a potion-making party. A variety of juices will be available to mix in fun potion bottles to make your very own concoctions and decide the mystical effects.
