From: Huckleberry Trail Farm Fall FestivalFall Farm Fun:
Corn Maze:
Our corn maze is 4.5 acres of stalks and bushels of fun. Our design is an old-fashioned maze that has just enough turns to make it challenging but not too many so that the young ‘uns get frustrated and come out crying. The first year, we had guests get to the back of the maze and then asked the farmhand, “What is the quickest way out?” Since then, we have designed our maze as two different mazes with an “escape path” right through the middle. You can take either the 5 station or 10 station challenge. And if you want to take a break before completing the maze, you can easily walk out and then pick up where you left off
Worried about getting lost? Don’t fret-we’ve got you covered! Every group goes into the maze with their own flag. You get to decide who has the honor of carrying it. Our farmhand up in the fort keeps an eye out for waving flags and is happy to provide a hint or two to keep you moving along.
So come on out and give it a try. We are sure you will be aMAZEd at what we can do with corn!!!
Pumpkin Patch:
Traditional Jack-o-lanterns
Yup, we have regular orange jack-o-lanterns too. Perfect for carving for halloween or keeping around for fall decorating.
Weird and wacky!!!?
Yup, thats what we call them. This year we have a whole section of the field dedicated to all sorts of non-traditional pumpkins, Different colors, some bumpy, some long and strange looking, you name it. Come on out and check it out.
Field trip patch
Yup, even the little ones get to pull one off the vine when they come out for a field trip. Everyone who participates in the fieldtrip gets a free small pumpkin. Small sounds small, but I got to tell you our smalls aren;’t that small this year. Some say they make the best pumpkin pies too!
Hayride:
Climb aboard and let the Great Pumpkin take you on a hayride down to the pumpkin and cotton patch. What’s the Great Pumpkin? It’s our big orange Kubota tractor with personality! The ride will follow the same path as the Old Wagon Trail that runs along the edge of our property-the same Wagon Trail that took settlers out west in the 1800′s. If you look closely in the woods, you can still see the ruts from the wagon wheels. Remember to tuck in your shirt before getting aboard-if you don’t, you may get off looking like a scarecrow!
