Michigan Dems Chair talks with Wolf Blitzer about the stakes of this election, the contrast between the candidates, and how close the election will be
LANSING — In case you missed it, this morning, Chair of the Michigan Democratic Party Lavora Barnes spoke with CNN’s Wolf Blitzer about the debate, Governor Tim Walz’s visit to Michigan today and tomorrow, and Michigan’s continued status as a battleground state. Governor Walz will be visiting Grand Rapids and Lansing to energize voters and remind voters of the stark contrast between Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris.
The truth is that Kamala Harris is the only candidate in this race who will deliver for working Michiganders because she is the only candidate who has ever been middle class. Donald Trump, as always, is only focused on making himself and his billionaire buddies richer — not helping middle-class families here in Michigan. At the end of the day, Trump is too busy pushing an extremist agenda to listen to anyone but himself.
Vice President Kamala Harris and Governor Tim Walz know that Michigan is a dead heat, and that’s why they are showing up to tell their story and earn every vote from now until November. As Chair Barnes put it, “There is no complacency here in Michigan, we’re working hard right up through the end, and Governor Walz is going to help us do that today and tomorrow.”
