Idaho Democrats Announce New Stops on Town Hall Tour as Republican Congressional Delegation Dodges Constituents

Government and Politics

March 13, 2025

As Idaho’s Republican congressional delegation continues to dodge public town halls, former U.S. Representatives Richard Stallings and Larry LaRocco are stepping in to give Idahoans the forum they deserve. On March 13th, they announced additional stops on their statewide town hall tour, ensuring voters have the opportunity to ask real questions and get real answers.

Since launching the tour last month, Stallings and LaRocco have drawn large, engaged crowds in Pocatello and Idaho Falls, where Idahoans are demanding accountability on critical issues such as Republican-led cuts to rural schools, farm contracts, fire safety, and Medicaid. With overwhelming interest from communities across the state, the tour is expanding to reach even more Idahoans.

Upcoming town hall tour stops:

  • Nampa – March 15, 1–2:30 p.m., Nampa Public Library
  • Nampa II – March 15, 3–4:15 p.m., Nampa Public Library
  • McCall – March 16, 4–6 p.m., McCall Public Library
  • Lewiston – March 22, 10 a.m.–noon, Lewiston Community Center
  • Moscow – March 22, 7–9 p.m., 1912 Center
  • Post Falls – March 23, 2:30–4 p.m., Red Lion Hotel Templin’s on the River
  • Boise – March 24, 6:30–8 p.m., Centennial High School

While extreme Republicans in Washington, D.C., including U.S. Reps. Mike Simpson and Russ Fulcher, vote to strip away health care coverage and food assistance from Idahoans to fund tax cuts for their wealthy donors, Idaho voters are demanding to be heard.

Rep. Mike Simpson hasn’t held a single tele-town hall in over 13 years. Sen. Mike Crapo last hosted a public town hall in 2019, and Sen. Jim Risch hasn’t faced voters in any form since 2020, when he held a tightly controlled virtual event with pre-screened questions. Despite repeated inquiries, their congressional staff have failed to provide any more recent examples.

Idaho Democrats refuse to let Republican lawmakers silence their constituents. As Republicans continue to evade accountability, the Idaho Democratic Party remains committed to ensuring Idahoans’ voices are heard.

Media outlets are encouraged to attend and cover these discussions firsthand. Stallings and LaRocco will be available for interviews at each stop.
