Spring Happenings!

Busy times at Kala this spring! The Berkeley High Arts and Humanities exhibition of student work opened last week and is on view this month in the community classroom, the first annual West Berkeley Community Print Festival and Open House filled the facilities on Saturday (super fun!), and we have Art Market coming up April 20-23.

In the midst of all of this we have ART KALA 2023 - Kala's Art Auction Benefit! Kala's art auction proceeds make it possible to open Kala's gallery, studios, and classroom for these events and more - supporting artists and engaging the community through artist residencies, arts education, exhibitions and public programs. To participate in the auction and support Kala, visit the gallery Tues-Fri, 12-5pm, bid online now through the closing party, and purchase your tickets for the closing party/live auction, Saturday, May 13, 6-9pm. We LOVE the Kala community and all that is happening. Thanks for supporting Kala!

The Arts and Humanities Academy (AHA) Spring Exhibition is back at Kala! Join us to celebrate the amazing artwork created by young people at Berkeley High School in partnership with Kala’s Artist-in-Schools program.

View a sample of Senior AP Studio Art portfolios that demonstrate an inquiry-based sustained investigation of materials, processes, and ideas through practice, experimentation, and revision. Students are in the process of completing 15 artworks for their portfolios.
