Camp Kala | Week 6 Update
Double camp week = double the art making!
Last week, we welcomed 32 campers to the Wearable Art: Express Yourself and Teen Studio: The Comics Lab camps. In the classroom, our 6-11 year old artists embroidered on fabric cyanotype prints, painted on tote bags, and printed on hand-dyed silk handkerchiefs. They showed off their new wearables in a fashion show for families and friends. In the gallery, teen artists learned the fundamentals of creating comics, including character development, perspective, and panel drafting. The final inked, full-color storyboards were displayed during the mini exhibition.
There are a few spots left for the Art in Motion camp (ages 6-11) - visit our website for more details.
Week 8: August 5-9, ages 6-11
9am - 3pm
Working across various media such as painting, drawing, and sculpture, participants will experiment with color, light, movement (kinetic elements), and more! Throughout the week, we will explore various forms and themes inspired by the natural environment, soundscapes, and our bodies.
From three-dimensional color wheels to kaleidoscopes and self-portraits, let’s imagine the possibilities of making art in motion!
