Kentucky Democratic Party Launches Rural Listening Tour

Government and Politics

July 15, 2024

Frankfort, KY - On July 15, 2024, the Kentucky Democratic Party officially launched its Rural Listening Tour, a new state-wide campaign to engage rural voters in every corner of the Commonwealth.

“Last year, Governor Beshear was able to flip several of our state’s rural counties because he showed up and delivered. And now, during the first six months of his second term, the Governor has doubled down on delivering for rural Kentucky - a fundamental reason we are now one of the top five states for economic development in the nation,” said Colmon Elridge, Kentucky Democratic Party Chair. “Building on this momentum, Kentucky Democrats are excited to hit the road and talk with rural voters about the issues that matter most to them - everything from road improvements and clean drinking water access to good jobs and a world-class education for our children. Rural voices will be key to our ability to develop and carry out a winning path forward.”

Kentucky Democratic Party leadership will join local Democratic leaders and candidates at each stop of the Rural Listening Tour. Beginning in July, the Rural Listening Tour will include visits in the following counties:‍

- Magoffin County

- Letcher County

- Henderson County

- Nicholas County

- Jessamine County‍

Additional information and sign-up forms for each Rural Listening Tour stop will be available on the Kentucky Democratic Party website.
