Read, sing and play! This is a fun early literacy experience, perfect for toddlers and preschoolers. This program spotlights a variety of books and themes.

Newborn PEPS Playgroup

Sundays from 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM in the Nest

Twelve weeks of facilitated playgroups for parents with babies up to 6 months of age. Each week, you’ll share parenting experiences, learn new activities to do with baby, and chat about essential parenting topics. Partners are welcome!

You’ll discuss feeding & sleep, learning & development, emotional challenges, and language & literacy. There will also be opportunities to discuss other relevant topics of your group’s choosing .

Every family receives a free making music with baby download, 1:1 local area resource guidance with TAPS staff, and at completion of the 12-week session, each group member receives a celebration gift.

Join Kidzu’s Makery team every first Friday for FREE themed STEMonstrations! Admission is free all day. This month, join Kidzu’s Makery team for STEMonstrations about Creative Coding! Kidzu is proud to have earned a 2023 NC GlaxoSmithKline Foundation Ribbon of Hope award, which will make STEAM and Kidzu’s makerspace, The Makery, accessible to all! Family First Fridays are monthly programs featuring free all-day museum admission with a range of facilitated STEMonstrations by real world scientists, artists, and makers! Additional support from the Grable Foundation and the NC Science Museum Grant Program.

Parents' Night Out

Friday, December 1st from 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM

Parents, you deserve a night out! Leave the childcare to us! Kids will enjoy a fun–filled night, including exhibit play & exploration, a staff led activity, and dinner from Alfredo’s Pizza Villa. This drop-off event is currently for children ages 3 – 9 (must be potty independent). Kids will exercise their minds, bodies, imagination, and independence.

$30 per child. Add early drop-off at 5:30pm, for only $5 more per child. Advanced registration is required. Kidzu members receive 20% off!
