Sensory Friendly Night

Wednesday, December 20th from 5:30 PM - 7:00 PM

This FREE monthly program is specifically for children with neurodivergent needs, such as developmental disabilities. Siblings and other family members are encouraged to attend and participate as well.

Sensory-Friendly Nights offer the chance to explore the Museum without the noise, large crowds, and stimulation of the typical museum visit. We limit the number of families who can attend and provide sanitized adaptive equipment such as noise-reducing headphones, timers, fidget toys, and visual schedules.

Breakfast with Santa

Friday, December 22nd from 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM.

Gain early access to the museum and visit with Santa as you enjoy a light breakfast and hot cocoa. Guests will be invited to make and gift wrap PomPom Teddy Bears with help from our staff. While visiting, Santa will read a story and be happy to take pictures with you and your Teddy Bear before he has to head back to the North Pole to get ready for Christmas. Come dressed in holiday spirit!

Museum admission, light breakfast, hot cocoa and Teddy Bear craft are included with the ticket fee.

Gingerbread Workshop

Wednesday, December 20th from 3:30 PM - 5:00 PM

It’s back! Design your own winter wonderland at our Gingerbread House Decorating Workshop! We’ll have all the materials (and sweets!) you’ll need to decorate the perfect gingerbread house for the holidays. All ages welcome!

Kwanzaa Storytime

Tuesday, December 26th from 11:00 AM - 11:30 AM

Celebrate the start of Kwanzaa with a special storytime, featuring guest reader Wendy Padilla.

New January Nest Hours

Beginning in January

You asked, we listened! The Nest will now be open longer, so you can start and end your play when it works best for you! Come anytime within the 3 hour window and enjoy an hour of child-directed play, collaborative art projects, and STEM activities with your child. Storytime will happen on the hour within the session. Open Play Nest sessions will be from 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM and from 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM. Older children are welcome to join their younger siblings for the weekday afternoon Open Play sessions from 2:00-5:00 PM! Siblings of any age are welcome, with the understanding that the space is designed for infants and toddlers and older children should play with care.

Please note that starting the week of January 22, the Open Play sessions will NOT be offered on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings, to accommodate our Free Supported Playgroups.
