From: Los Angeles OperaAn Evening of Respite with the Unforgettable Kelli O'Hara
Whether you’re a longtime season ticket holder or joining us for the first time, perhaps as a guest through our free ticket program for fire-affected residents, we have the immense privilege of presenting the extraordinary Kelli O’Hara with the LAO Orchestra. Together, we celebrate the power of live performance to unite and inspire audiences from all across Los Angeles.
While it’s easy to the make the "unforgettable" claim for an eight-time Tony Award nominee and winner for The King and I (among other things), it isn’t just her accolades that make her so fascinating. Throughout her career, whenever people told O’Hara to go right, she went left and followed her heart.
Whether in musical theater, opera or television, she’s brought distinctive artistry to each and every one of her roles, performing in front of some of the largest audiences each medium has to offer. But how did this Oklahoma native achieve immense success?
Resources for Impacted Residents
Like the rest of our community, we are heartbroken about the devastation caused by the recent wildfires throughout the county. In the wake of this tragedy, we have compiled a list of resources to assist those impacted by the fires and to help with recovery efforts. This also includes artistic resources for artists looking to rebuild, as well as volunteer and donation opportunities for those able to help in this moment of crisis. In addition, we have included a couple of resources for those seeking a moment of respite and community through music.
Celebrate Our 40th Anniversary With Us
Next season, we'll have the privilege of celebrating our 40th anniversary and we couldn't be more excited about it. In these past four decades, we've had the incredible honor of bringing world-class opera to Los Angeles and engaging with our community through music. While we could sit and reminisce for hours, we want to hear from you and what your favorite memories with us have been.
