The Mason Jazz Festival is an invitational event open to middle school, high school, collegiate and community Jazz ensembles. This festival will take place on the George Mason University Fairfax campus.

Sponsored by Mason Jazz Studies participating groups will perform a 20-30 minute set, followed by a clinic by Mason Jazz faculty and special guests.

The festival will include:

3 “Outstanding Soloist” (cash prizes) and
4 “Best Section” awards, as well as scholarships to the Mason Jazz Camp, summer 2024.
New this year - Live performance recordings for Band Directors.

Festival Performances:

Performance by the Mason Jazz Ensemble, directed by Jim Carroll, the JazzWorx Big Band, directed by Mike Thorp, and a special Mason Jazz Faculty All-Star Concert.
