State of the City Address and Luncheon

Join us as we celebrate Milford and the growth we continue to enjoy.

Interim Mayor Richard Smith will give us an economic and cultural overview of the State of Milford for 2023 and beyond. This year we celebrate at one of Milford’s newest restaurants Il Capriccio which will provide a fantastic menu, with choices to make any palette delight.

Lunch will be served at Noon and the Mayor will speak at 12:30.

Milford Concert Band 31st Anniversary Town Concert

The Milford Concert Band presents the “Summer 2023 Coastal Series” town concert for this, the 31st year as the Official Band of the City of Milford, CT.

This year’s feature pieces are the Star Wars Saga, a medley of themes from John Williams score from Empire Strikes Back as well as a jazz medley of legend Louis Armstrong. We also perform a variety of pop, jazz, Broadway, patriotic, and family fun favorites with our beautiful coastline beaches as a background. Bring a blanket and chairs and enjoy.

New players of all ages and abilities are always welcome to rehearse and play with The MCB (including local middle and high school students…a great benefit to student excellence in music). Our rehearsals are Monday evenings at 7:30 at the Fowler Memorial Building behind the Library.

West Haven High School- Send Our Student Leaders to Drum Major Leadership Academy

My name is Donata Lupacchino, and I am the Band Director for the West Haven High School Band. Each year, I have a team of students who are leaders in our ensemble of 140 student musicians
 
There is a fantastic leadership academy that I would love to send our students to over the summer to help to support their growth and development as leaders and musicians. It is called Drum Major Academy, and students spend 3 full days and nights working with world-renowned band staff. The cost of this camp is $735 per student. Professional Women’s Golf is coming to Milford!  

The “feeder” tour to the LPGA TOUR, called the EPSON TOUR, is hosting the Hartford HealthCare Women’s Championship at Great River Golf Club from July 11 – 16.  

Activities that week include a Junior Clinic (7/11); Two Pro-Ams (7/12 &13); a complimentary Women’s Golf Day Clinic (7/12) and free general admission to the competition on 7/14, 7/15 and 7/16.   Come see these talented professionals up close as they vie for points and the purse.
