Art Deco City: New York Postcards from the Leonard A. Lauder Collection
Now on view
In the 1920s and '30s, Art Deco defined New York as a cosmopolitan hub of architecture, design, and culture, overshadowing European capitals. Our newest exhibition, Art Deco City: New York Postcards from the Leonard A. Lauder Collection, showcases 250 postcards that played a pivotal role in elevating New York during the interwar years.
Highlights include renowned landmarks like the Chrysler Building and Rockefeller Center, which were immortalized through colorful, mass-produced postcards, reflecting the era's sleek style amidst the challenges of the Great Depression.
