Swingin' on the Silver Screen
Music Mountain's favorite swing band returns for their 16th annual concert in Gordon Hall with a fun new program of cinematic hits from the Great American Songbook! Swingtime will shine the spotlight on the timeless melodies & meaningful lyrics introduced or featured in Hollywood movies, including special 100th birthday tributes to legendary film composer Henry Mancini and prolific big band composer/arranger Sammy Nestico.
Led by Artistic Director Steve Shaiman, this dynamic 20-piece jazz ensemble will bring to life the music of Count Basie, Glenn Miller, Les Brown, Tommy Dorsey, and Woody Herman. Plus, Swingtime's two entertaining vocalists salute the greatest singers of all time, including Sarah Vaughan, Peggy Lee, Ella Fitzgerald, Bobby Darin, Steve Lawrence, and the immortal Frank Sinatra.
