Governor Murphy and First Lady Tammy Murphy Launch Economic Mission to Canada Begining in Ottawa
Governor Murphy and First Lady Tammy Murphy landed in Ottawa to begin their four-day, three-city economic mission trip to Canada. Organized by Choose New Jersey, the trip will focus on strengthening New Jersey’s ties with Canada while cultivating partnerships and international investment opportunities in sectors such as film and technology.
Governor Murphy Meets with the AmCham Canada and Invest Ottawa
Governor Murphy and the Choose New Jersey delegation began the Canadian Economic Mission trip by meeting with the American Chamber of Commerce in Canada (AmCham Canada) and Invest Ottawa, laying the groundwork for future collaboration.
Governor Murphy Meets with The Inuit Development Corporation Association
Governor Murphy, First Lady Tammy Murphy, and New Jersey Economic Development Authority CEO Tim Sullivan, met with Patrick Duxbury of the Inuit Development Corporation Association. The IDCA works to influence the policies and programs that impact Inuit development corporations across Canada, fostering economic growth and supporting Indigenous communities from coast to coast. By advocating for sustainable economic practices and promoting Indigenous ownership in key sectors, the IDCA ensures long-term prosperity for Inuit businesses. Their efforts also focus on creating jobs, enhancing local infrastructure, and driving social and economic development within Indigenous regions.

Governor Murphy and First Lady Tammy Murphy met with Ambassador David Cohen for dinner along with delegates from Choose New Jersey. The evening provided a valuable opportunity to discuss shared interests and explore areas of potential collaboration between New Jersey and Canada.
